Adónde vs TripIt, Polarsteps and Wanderlog

Four apps, four jobs

TripIt is a filing cabinet. Forward your confirmation emails and it lines them up into one itinerary, with flight alerts if you pay for Pro. It does not plan anything, book anything, or know anyone. It is very good at the one thing it does.

Polarsteps is a diary. It tracks your route by GPS as you go, hangs your photos on the map, and prints the result as a hardback book. It added a planner and a subscription this year, but the heart of it is the record of a trip you are already on.

Wanderlog is a shared notebook. You and your friends drop places into a list, it puts them on a map and a timeline, and the Pro tier adds offline access, route optimization and Gmail scanning. Bookings link out to other sites.

Adónde is the trip. It builds the day-by-day plan from the real catalogue of tours and places for your dates, books the hotel, flights and tours inside the app, files the confirmations, tracks the budget, opens every city with a guide, turns the trip into a story, and shows you the travelers who are already there. It pins every stop with directions from where you sleep, exports the itinerary to your calendar, works offline, watches your flights, and carries the safety layer nobody else bothers with: local emergency numbers, live travel advisories, entry and visa requirements, and location sharing with the people who worry about you. The plan, the bookings, the map and the people are one object.

Member hotel rates averaged 9% below the cheapest public price across five sites in our own check. Every number, every site, and the three hotels we left out. Competitor details come from each app's public pages in September 2026 and can change. If we got something wrong, tell us at support@getadonde.com.

What the price buys

All four have a free plan, and the difference is what the paid tier is for. TripIt Pro exists to sell you flight alerts. Polarsteps Plus sells 3D maps and stats on top of a diary that was already free. Wanderlog Pro sells offline access and Gmail scanning. Adónde's free plan is the whole travel app: booking at member rates, every guide, the globe, the community, the stories, the safety layer, and one AI-built trip to see what it does. Traveler+ is for the parts that cost us money every time you use them.

The one number that matters most is the hotel rate, and it is on the free side. Adónde members get closed user group prices that Booking.com, Expedia and the rest are not allowed to publish, often for the same room. Other services sell that as a $20 a month membership. Here it comes with the free account.
